Alisha Lafleur
General Manager
Alisha has diplomas in Recreation & Leisure Services from Humber College and Retirement Communities Management from Seneca College.
She brings extensive experience working in our local community in municipal recreation, community support programs, long-term care and has been a respected manager at the Gardens of Haliburton since the doors opened in 2021. Alisha has a passion for supporting seniors communities and providing outstanding leadership to foster a positive work environment for our staff, and she is committed to providing the best possible quality of support and lifestyle for our Retirement Residence.
Patti Lou Robinson
Director of Community Relations
Patti Lou Robinson (nee Vasey) has deep roots in Haliburton County. Both her paternal and maternal grandfathers helped to build the roads from Lindsay to Dorset in the early 1940’s. Her father, Gary Vasey, developed several lakes in the Haliburton area back in the 1960’s and sold cottages to residents that now call The Gardens home. The term ‘full circle’ comes to mind when mentioning Patti Lou’s role as Director of Community Relations.
She has called Lake Kashagawigamog home for the past 20 years, raising three children and deepening her own roots in the Highlands. Patti Lou has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters and sat on the Board of Directors for Community Living. From Community Food Advisor to helping manage the Healthy Snack Program in our county public schools, she has chosen roles that allowed her to touch other peoples lives in a positive way. Patti Lou said she is excited to be helping Seniors transition to the Gardens and is already enriching her own life through the relationships she is developing with our residents.
Amanda Killaby
Director of Wellness
Amanda has been a member of the Gardens team since 2021. Amanda started her career as a Certified PSW from Georgian College after high school. She later pursued her Nursing education at Fleming College and has been a Registered Practical Nurse for over 20 years. Amanda brings over 20 years of experience in long term care and retirement to her position as Director of Wellness, her caring and compassionate personality assists in providing the best quality of care for our Residents.
Heather Inness
Office Manager
Heather is a life-long cottager at Kennisis Lake, settling permanently on Eagle Lake in 2009. After travelling and experiencing different fields of interest in her past, the recent passing of her father brought her focus to the retirement and care field. She understands the dedication of the profession, in regard to residents, their families, and their collective needs. Heather is very happy and honoured to be a part of the Gardens team!
Hailly Hamilton
Activities Director
Hailly is a certified Recreation Therapist with a diploma from Canadore College and she has been a dedicated member of our staff team since the doors opened in 2021. She brings an enthusiastic personality and strong connections in our community to the role of engaging our Residents and senior community in meaningful daily activities and special events.
Sherry Switzer
Maintenance Manager
Sherry has been a vital part of our Housekeeping and Maintenance team since 2021. She brings over 23 years experience in the restoration, construction and housekeeping fields with an education in Management from George Brown College in addition to certificates in Water, Fire, Asbestos, Odor, Mold and Commercial Drying practices. Sherry is dedicated to serving the Residents of the Gardens of Haliburton and keeping our building up to the highest of cleaning and maintenance standards. She also brings her personal passion for gardening to keep the outside of the building looking seasonally beautiful.
